07-22-2012 "Is anybody out there?"
I wonder if I am the only one who routinely sees "expressions" on the looks and behaviors of animals... it happens quite often in my case!
This lovely Ibis posed for me for about 3 seconds... and to me here it looks like it is wondering if there is actually anyone out there aside from us.
I frequently wonder about the very same thing, so I hope that if the ibis finds out, it will let me know!
08-06-2012 "Escape the Night"
I have always been fascinated by the birds and their social behaviors. These blackbirds always flee the night and settle for rest in huge groups, happilly chatting about the day before tucking in.
But there is something about their silent, quick flight that makes me think of desperation... like the desperation for leaving something you want no part of and the relief of making it happen.
05-28-2012: "Fly into the Storm"
Sometimes we feel just like this... when we walk into a difficult meeting, when we have a though personal matter to solve... There is something about those situations and many others, which makes us feel small and afraid.
I like this bird's attitude because no matter how dark and difficult it looks ahead, it needed to go somewhere in there and that's exactly what it did. I guess we should just do the same.
